"U Zpevacku" Restaurant with traditional Czech food is located in historical center of Prague, in a quiet location in the neighborhood of the National Therater and the riverside of Vltava and belongs to the oldest czech restaurants, with long-established tradition since 1865.

A family business with a tradition and an interesting story

In the 16th century, there were originally the background buildings of the church, which were later rebuilt to a pub. In 1865 there was established a pub with later name "U Zpevacku", which was visited by famous personalities and artists from the neighboring National Theater, such as Bedrich Smetana and Antonin Dvorak. Throughout its history, this restaurant has always been a well-known beer and famous home made cuisine. In the 70's and 80's of the last century, besides ordinary and permanent guests, there were also dissidents of great names, including Vaclav Havel. After large reconstruction in 2003 was build modern kitchen, which allows the preparation of traditional Czech cuisine with trends of modern gastronomy. But you can still meet the stars of the National Theater, including ballet dancers and actors.

By tram: The nearest tram stop called National Theater has 3 platforms. if you get off the tram in front of the New Scene of the National Theater (building of glaas), you will pass through the square of Vaclav Havel, you will go down the stairs, then you will go straight, The National Theater (historical building) will be on the right, then turn left into Na Struze. if you get off the tram on the riverside, you will go along the river from Charles Bridge to Zofin to the Goethe Institute, where you will go to the left to street Na Struze.

By underground: Restaurant "U Zpevacku" is about 400 meters from "Narodni Trida" underground station (line B). After leaving the metro, go directly to Ostrovni Street (about 300 meters), then turn left into Pstrossova Street and, if you go to the right side of the street, you will reach the entrance of the Restaurant "U Zpevacku".

By car: Arrival by car to the restaurant "U Zpevacku" is possible from the riverside to street Na Struze, you can park in the garages of the National Theater (Divadelni street) . It is also possible to park in paid zones in the streets Myslikova, Divadelni and Smetanovo nabrezi.
